1931 Austin Seven Swallow. William Lyons, the man behind Jaguar, began manufacturing Swallow motorcycle sidecars in Blackpool in 1921. Special bodywork was being fitted to Austin chassis by May 1927, and later to others. The small, luxurious Austin Seven Swallow had feminine appeal. It stood out from the crowd with bright, adventurous paint schemes, at a time when most cars were dark in colour. The bonnet colouration created a ‘pen-nib’ effect towards the cowled radiator and the roof had a distinctive frontal peak. This example is almost entirely original and had only one previous owner. It will not be restored, but kept as a ‘type specimen’. 1931 Austin Seven Swallow.
